So this is me
Just exploring ideas, trying to learn, observing, trying to see how the world works.
My background was scientific research with university teaching in sciences but I have also developed and sold products, been in business, journalism and photography. I think of myself as a realist, one both interested in the survival of our species and our varied societies. One that considers the individual has worth and should be respected. At the same time I’m aware of conflicts that sometimes occur between the individual and that persons society and culture. I don’t think in absolutism’s; of a best or worst, or good or bad but find myself generally in the grey areas between.
I started my first small business when in school, have gone on with other various ones, always small scale, endeavours ever since. Developed new products, bought and sold products, sold photographs, wrote sport and travel articles for magazines, scientific papers, earned a living as an academic and researcher. I survived economically.
I never aimed to become a Big business as employed as an academic and research person for years. I have worked as an ecologist, physiologist, scientist, photographer, general builder, woodworker, and been involved in conservation but also in other vastly different fields. Hence a broad range of interests and the unfocused nature of this site as I hope it evolves.
